Brain Damaged Soccer Coach Creates A Fortune
I was injured in my college Soccer Game. But made it through to success.
I played soccer when I was a child all the way through high school and was recruited by my Junior College to play for them. In the first season, our team was undefeated and we went to the finals for the state championship. In this game I was playing center half-back or or center midfield. The ball was kicked up and over my head and I went back to get it. My left defender and I collided and he went down and was rendered unconscious. I was a bit shaken but had not been shaken up as badly as he was, or at least that was how I felt. I sat out for a time but went back in and played the remainder of the game, which we lost.
When I returned to my dormatory room, undressed and entered the shower, I had what I now know to be a grand mal seizure. The event was the begining of a whole new way of life for me. I was in for a long road of neurologists and medication cocktails.
I was on this path for over 14 years and then I had surgery to remove the scar tissue from my left temporal lobe. This was a true miracle for me as I have been seizure free ever since. I still am maintaining my medication regiment but it is much easier than living in fear of having a seizure while driving my chidren to school. My life has taken a turn for the better. I love the Lord for what he has done for me and my life. But I was always in fear that I was never going to achieve my DREAMS.
My fears aside, I decided that my DREAMS were worth taking the risk, so I went for it.
