There was a boy named Rya. He was so sad and sick of how his life was. He wanted a change that would alter his path, he wanted to write his fantasy. He remembered how relaxing it was to sit and day dream of his dream woman in college class in Rice Lake Wisconsin. She was tall with long blonde hair, red thin lips, and startling blue eyes. Her skin was as white as milk and fair as a princess of the old times. He remembered her from the time he was in eighth grade. Sometimes he heard her speak to him, but didn’t know what her name was and made up a name for her as Sarah. A sweet name for such a perfect face that entered his mind and what a beautiful imagination it was to write a fantasy.
The first two weeks of college life fell under his feet and Rya hated sitting in a class of lecture by teachers that had no idea what his future held. A few of the students didn’t care for his long hair and his physics teacher was making a point to the class that women could pick up a chair a certain way that men couldn’t, but not for Rya he was able to pick up the chair just fine. One thought of him as a girl because he could do it, but the teacher was confused and astonished because he had not known any man to defy the laws of physics. Not for Rya he was unlike any man and no rule or limits would keep him captive.
He hated the wait to make a break to his true destiny besides Mechanical Design. He wanted to write and publish his novel, but needed to find his muse. He was young, handsome with light brown hair, deep blue eyes, broad lips and the youth of a young prince with the appearance no older than the age of 16. He was ahead of his years in maturity and knew that there were people in the world that would do nothing more than take advantage of him. He would wake up every morning depressed with the life before him. Everyday he wondered when this pain would end and when the hole in such heart would heal to a close.
One day Rya drove over to the Wal-Mart store to meet his friend Robby to hang out with when he realized he would be meeting someone that would ultimately change his life. He sat on the bench waiting for Rob to get off work and a woman sat next to him. They were both quiet and were both waiting for someone, as it appeared. “Excuse me do you know what time it is?” she asked. Rya turned his head to see her beautiful face. “Yea it’s about 6:00 pm” he replied while looking at his watch. “Who are you waiting for?” she asked. “My friend Rob.” “I’m also waiting for Robby,” she cracked a grin. “How do you know him?” she continued. “We know each other from high school.” “My name is Krissy,” she replied. “Rya,” he answered while shaking her hand and right away he could feel something electrical run up his arm. Rya could see that there was something very attractive with her that made him want to be with her. Besides her smile and cute brown eyes that hid behind such glasses the hair was long and black adding an extra flavor of partially dyed blue hair. “So what do you like to do for fun?” asked Krissy. “I like to write.” “You mean write books and stuff?” she asked. “Yes,” he answered. “That’s interesting. Have you got anything published?” There was a hesitation as he only smiled while getting lost in her beauty. They seemed to reach out and invite him in a warm friendship. He was lost, caught in between time itself and didn’t want to escape it. “Someday I’ll be published, but not until I find my inspiration.”
They talked for an hour before Robby finally showed up and caught the end of the conversation which was mostly philosophy, writing and art. She was interested in foreign languages and being an interpreter for Czechoslovakia on the phone. “Hi,” replied Robert. “Ohh hi,” they both said at once. Rob looked at them both with a smile that only meant that he knew what was going to proceed. “April wanted me to tell you that you forgot your CD’s at her house,” replied Krissy. “Ohh I’ll pick them up after school tomorrow,” replied Rob. “Ok” she replied as she rose from the chair and turned to Rya. “It was very nice to meet you. I hope we meet again,” Krissy replied as she smiled, turned and walked away. After she left, Rob looked at Rya with a surprise in such eyes. “Wow, you and Krissy sure hit it off well.” “Yes we did,” replied Rya with a smile as he thought to himself what an amazing women.
The end of the night was nothing more than talking about old times in the town of Somerset to Rob’s ideas of starting a novel. Rya never forgot about Krissy and through the weeks visited her at Wal-Mart, where she worked. She looked so cute with her blue vest and long black hair partially dyed with blue. She smiled at him and knew that he was interested in her. Her glasses hid her brown eyes with such precision. It was one day that Rya invited her back to his apartment and in his room they made out for hours. It was that moment when Krissy took off her glasses that Rya realized she was Sarah incarnate and could not help but fall in love with her.
It was the last week of August that made things a problem and they both knew it. Parting ways was difficult and she became aware of it as they talked at his apartment. “I have to go,” she replied. There was no answer from Rya and he didn’t like where the conversation was leading, which was a dead end. “You can’t expect me to stay here in Rice Lake. I would like to leave and make something of myself.” “I understand, I don’t want to keep you from your schooling in Madison, I just want you to think about everything with us that went great. We’re on the same side of destiny, you inspired me to write a fantasy story with your personality in it and it’s difficult to just turn away from that. I have this feeling that once you leave that I’ll never see you again,” replied Rya. Krissy was quiet as she knew what he was talking about. “Don’t you think that’s biased?” “What do you mean?” asked Rya. “There’s the phone, email and writing letters. I’m never going to forget about you,” she cracked a grin. “Can I dedicate my story to you?” he asked. “Yes,” she answered. “I’ll call you as soon as I get settled in.” It was the day before the big move and there was a lot to do. Dustin didn’t want to get in the way. He had to work at Pizza Hut so they parted ways with a hug and a kiss good-bye.
For 4 months Rya was depressed and unhappy. Krissy never called him and the sadness began to take its toll in his grades for the semester. He didn’t care about anything anymore. He got fired from Pizza Hut and was in a lot of financial trouble. He hardly hung around Rob anymore and the only time he was happy was the possibility that Krissy would call him. He would sleep for countless days and nights trying to think what he had done wrong. He called in sick at school and was on the verge of collapse. When everything was at its worse would suddenly change before his eyes.
A barrier had developed between him and the outside world and the dark room showed it. Rya didn’t even know if it was night or daytime, nore did he care. All he knew was that he didn’t have any energy. Suddenly, the room turned bright white and in the middle of his room stood an angel with its wings spread open. She looked very beautiful and the trance of depression was broken. This young man slowly moved out of bed and drew closer to the angel. Her illumination was bright, but reduced so that he could see her face. She looked as she always did in his imagination. Her blue eyes looked at Rya as she opened her thin lips and touched her waist with the grace of such hands. She wore a sort of white night gown that stretched to her ankles and covered her arms. The angel’s wings folded behind her slender, but slightly athletic body. Her blonde hair was past her knees, it was like the combination of the moon and the golden sun. Her face slightly resembled Krissy and she spoke softly, but sternly. “If she was really your soul mate she would have come back for you!”
Rya’s mouth opened in shock for he didn’t want to believe what he was hearing. “You know who I am,” she replied. “Sarah?” he asked as he watched the angel nod her head. “I’ve been here since the beginning and have been watching over you.” “Well, then are you here in this world. I mean do you exist as a real person?” asked Rya. Sarah began smiling and knew what he was talking about. She knew that the human she was watching over had an intimate attraction towards her. “I’m sorry, but it doesn’t work that way. Your ego and free will has a great factor in finding your soul mate. Finding a human girl who looks like me is like looking for a specific ant out of a million and if she’s not your soul mate then the work is wasted, but I can assure you all is well. Now wake up for the day and live for tomorrow. There is plenty for you to do in this lifetime.” “But there’s so many questions I have?” asked Rya. “When will I meet her? What is my purpose? What is it like on the other side?” he asked while watching her white wings spread apart again and the white light that had claimed the furniture drew back into her body and face turned bright white. “All in good time. You have much to learn and I’ll be watching you. We shall meet again and all you have to do is read the signs.” Seconds latter she was gone and Rya looked around in his gloomy room and began to think.
His eyes opened up to the sight of dawn and knew it was the beginning of a new day. He started his fantasy story, which began to take shape from inspiration of the angel’s visit. Krissy was gone, but his experiences and inspiration was imprinted on him forever. He knew exactly what he wanted the story to be about and put Sarah in the story. He latter achieved a temp job through Man Power to work for a company in Barron called Jeromes and looked forward to the new job and begin allocating time for his book which was still in its early stage of revisions. Rya continued to write and each page that touched his pencil inspired even more through such words beyond this world. It was like the river broke the dam and became wild with creativity. He found himself swimming in it and griping on to a rock to watch it run by within his touch. When he was finished he looked at the title “An Angel Visit”, and put it in the envelope to be sent to the publisher. It would be the beginning to many more stories.
